What did our aphasia testing group say?

The aphasia testing group liked:

  • Instructions at the beginning of the activity are read aloud.
  • You can tap on words to have them read aloud.
  • The videos showing how a word is said.
  • All of the activities have cues to help support you.
  • Activities focused on everyday speech.

“The cues at the bottom of the screen were so helpful.”

Our aphasia testing group found some parts challenging.

  • Getting started can be challenging. Work with your speech and language therapist if possible.
  • It takes time to learn how to use any new app.
  • It can be helpful to practice with someone supporting you when you first start.
  • If you are unsure of the instructions, watch the videos.
  • It can only be used on iPads and iPhones (Apple devices)

What did a speech and language therapist say?

I like to set up activities for my patients.

This means I can choose the activities they can practice at home.

I can set similar tasks to what we are working on in therapy.

We can practice the app together so they know what to expect.

Patients can share their results with me.
